Dr.
Cuber is a specialist in breast and body surgery.
He is board certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery
and dedicates his time to breast augmentation, breast reduction, and
body sculpting. This allows
him to give you the latest techniques and a focused experience to give
the best results possible.
Analysis
of the breasts is very important. Dr.
Cuber will make very precise measurements of not only the breasts, but
their relation to the rest of the body.
Some breasts are small to begin with, and only a symmetric
enlargement is needed. Occasionally,
the breasts are asymmetrical and therefore need to be enlarged and made
equal in size. Sometimes
the breasts may sag after childbirth or weight loss and the breast implants can
be combined with a lift to restore the fullness and shape.

Incisions
TUBA
(trans umbilical breast augmentation) - a hidden incision in
the belly button is used to place the implants so no scar is seen around
the breast itself. This is a wonderful way to enhance the breasts with
minimal evidence that a surgery was even performed.
Standard incision
- this is placed in the natural crease under the breast and is
about one to one and a half inches long. This approach is easy and the
incision usually heals to the point where it is almost invisible.
Areolar incision
- an incision is made around part of the areola and nipple.
After healing occurs the incision blends in well and is very difficult
to see.
Axillary incision - a small
incision is made under the muscle in each armpit. The breast implant is placed into the pocket created and the
incision heals extremely well. This
is another great way to perform breast augmentation with no incision on
the breast at all.
The
implants are saline (salt-water) filled or they can be filled
with a cohesive silicon gel which was recently approved by the FDA.
The silicon gel implants have undergone extensive testing and
leakage should be extremely rare. When
you are in our office for your consultation, you may stand on one of our
samples to see how strong it is. Silicon
gives a more natural feel than saline so the patient satisfaction is
higher. However, most
patients still desire the saline implants at this time because they can
be placed through the smaller incisions, while the silicon implants need
to be placed through the standard incision under the breast.
Dual
plane breast augmentation is a useful technique for patients
who have only a minor amount of droopiness and do not want to go through
a breast lift. In this
procedure, the implant is placed partially beneath the muscle and
partially beneath the breast tissue.
This gives lift to the breast along with the fullness so a breast
lift (and the incisions that go with it) is not needed.
The
surgery is performed in our accredited surgery center under
IV sedation or general anesthesia.
You will be discharged home the same day with a bandage and wrap
in place. Some soreness,
swelling, and bruising may occur, and muscle relaxants, pain killers,
and antibiotics will be prescribed.
The breasts will often appear too high to begin with, but will
fall nicely into position in subsequent weeks.
Patients can typically return to work in 10 days, with no
strenuous activity for 2-3 weeks.
Breast
augmentation is a very satisfying procedure and Dr. Cuber
takes the time to individualize each patient so the best procedure is
done every time. So call
the office for a free consultation and we will be happy to discuss
everything with you.
