Skin cancer is the most common type of cancer and is
usually curable. Exposure to the sun’s rays and other genetic
factors can cause the appearance of growths on the skin. If a
biopsy returns a diagnosis of skin cancer, then it must be excised,
and if that excision is on a hard-to-fix area like the nose or
eyelid, then you need an expert in reconstruction of the area. Dr.
Miller specializes in skin cancer reconstruction and has performed
over 1000 reconstructions on the face including the lip, ear,
eyelid, and nose, as well as every other area of the body
Breast
reconstruction after cancer surgery is an extremely important part of a
woman’s healing process. Having a natural appearing breast on the side that
a mastectomy is performed goes a long way to making a woman feel whole again. Dr. Cuber specializes in breast reconstruction surgery and performs the
initial flap (TRAM flap) surgery to give bulk to the breast area. Then a
skin expander is placed, and later, an implant is inserted. Finally, a
nipple is created from surrounding skin and combined with permanent makeup
techniques for color. Also, the opposite breast can be lifted or altered to
match the reconstructed side. Dr. Cuber will be with you every step of the
way for this important process.
Breast reduction is a great way to improve
the appearance of the breasts as well as help with the neck and back pain
that often accompany oversized breasts. The insurance company will often
cover the procedure if several criteria are met. The surgery can be
performed in an outpatient setting and recovery is about 10 days.
Dr. Cuber is a specialist in hand surgery such as carpal
tunnel release and ganglion cyst removal. These procedures are
usually covered by insurance and our office will help you set
everything up.
Our plastic surgeons are specialists in
removing your unwanted growths and repairing the defect with a nice
plastic surgery closure. Insurance may cover the removal of your
growth and it can usually be done at our surgical center with no need
to go to the hospital.
