Brazilian Butt Lift versus Butt Implants for a More Shapely Backside

NJ Brazilian Butt LiftEDISON, NEW JERSEY – With celebrities such as Kim Kardashian and JLO getting media attention for their round derrieres, some people may find themselves wishing they too had a rounder, more shapely backside.

There are a couple of options for those considering cosmetic surgery to change the shape, lift and size of their buttocks; namely butt implants or the Brazilian butt lift.

To make the decision on which procedure is right for you, you must understand what each one entails. The first step is a consultation with a plastic surgeon who has the experience and knowledge needed to perform these procedures. You can discuss your goals and desires during your consultation and explain the results you are looking to achieve.

“Your consultation is important, as this is the time to learn about each procedure and find out which one is right for your body type,” said New Jersey breast augmentation professional Dr. Shain Cuber. “We encourage our patients to ask questions, bring in photos and do as much research as they can. Ultimately, the decision on which procedure to use is up to the surgeon, but arming yourself with information is recommended.”

The Brazilian Butt Lift
The first step in the butt lift procedure is to remove excess fat from the waistline, stomach, thighs and/or hips. The fat removal provides contouring that will enhance the look of the butt. The fat is then purified so the best fat cells can be transferred by hundreds of microinjections into the buttocks. By injecting the fat at various depths, the surgeon can control the lifted appearance of the buttocks. A Brazilian butt lift is often confused with a traditional butt lift, which involves incisions along the lower back to manipulate the tissue and close with sutures.

“The Brazilian butt lift procedure is popular because it does not involve actual incisions and is less invasive with less chance for scarring,” said the breast lift professional.

Butt Implants
Butt implants are similar to breast implants, where the patient selects from a variety of implant choices that ranges in roundness and fullness. This technique requires incisions. To insert the implant, the surgeon makes a 3-inch incision in the middle of the buttocks to create a pocket for the silicone implant. The implant is situated between muscle and fat.

“Butt implants are ideal for those who do not have excess body fat or feel they need more fullness than a fat injection procedure would offer,” the breast enhancement specialist said.

The recovery time for butt implants is longer and more extensive, and the chance of scarring is higher.

“Each procedure produces natural looking results, however the Brazilian butt lift does not require patients to get used to the feel of an implant when sitting down,” said Dr. Cuber, who also offers tummy tuck surgery.
