"Breast augmentation remains extremely popular. Many women are either naturally small or have had breast changes over time. Unfortunately, pregnancy, hormone changes, and aging can adversely affect a woman's breasts despite diet and exercise. Theses concerns are more evident without the support of a bra, bathing suit or clothing and may affect self esteem causing avoidance of activities. An attentive plastic surgeon will review these concerns in detail with the patient to best address them. Breast augmentation is not merely inserting the biggest implants to enlarge the breasts. There is an art to the process before, during and after the procedure.
Outstanding results will not focus only upon her breasts, but upon their unique relation to the rest of the patient. This will include present size, shape, position in relation to her body proportions, chest wall, any right to left asymmetries as well as skin and tissues. In some instances, a breast lift may also be beneficial at the time of augmentation. Of course, every patient is different and it is up to the plastic surgeon's artistic judgment and expertise to best match the outcome to the patient's desires.
Many options for implants, access incision, technique and plane will be reviewed. Implant style and size depends upon examination. Smooth round gels are the mainstay, usually under the muscle. In some cases, partially under the muscle (dual plane) or completely above the muscle may give a more natural look. Access is usually from under the breast crease while around the nipple areola or the axilla may be considered.
Most importantly, a patient must feel comfortable with her plastic surgeon. This usually requires more than one consultation with her plastic surgeon."

Our breast enhancement in NJ can help to change the size and fullness of your breasts, but can also be performed to even out your appearance and the balance of your figure and to improve your self-confidence.
In order to ensure that this type of procedure goes properly, analysis of the breasts is very important. Dr. Heller and Dr. Haramis will make very precise measurements of not only the breasts, but their relation to the rest of the body. Some breasts are small to begin with so only a symmetric enlargement is needed.
Occasionally, the breasts are asymmetrical and therefore need to be enlarged and made equal in size. This is where the expertise of our surgeons becomes so vital, as they can evaluate your breasts and determine exactly how much to add to one of your breasts so you can be comfortable with even, beautiful breasts.
You will be able to choose between saline or silicone gel implants. Both are safe, FDA-approved, and present no health risks. Silicone implants are currently the most popular because they tend to look and feel more natural. However, they can sometimes be more expensive.
Saline implants, which are less expensive, can be placed through smaller incisions in different locations such as the underarm and then filled.
Our silicone breast implants in NJ have a silicone exterior and are filled with a silicone gel. They have undergone extensive testing and leakage should be extremely rare. Even with the rare occurrence of leakage, the silicone gel is cross-linked to make it more cohesive and less likely to spread throughout the body, possibly leading to pain or, rarely, infection. Silicone breast implants are approved for women 22 and older.
Saline breast implants are made of a silicone shell and filled with sterile saline (salt-water). They are inserted, then filled to the desired size and volume that you and our plastic surgeons have agreed would look best for you. Saline breast implants still have a natural look and feel, though many women agree that silicone breast implants often look more natural than saline. Saline breast implants are approved for women 18 and older.
This is a 26-year-old female who wanted to enhance the size of her breasts. She was a small B size and wanted to become a full C. Since she had some breast tissue to begin with, an inframammary incision was used and worked very well. Bilateral 300 cc saline filled implants were used, and the implants were placed into the submuscular plane. The patient was very happy with her natural result.
This is a 29-year-old female who wanted to enlarge her breasts. She was a size B and wanted to become a full C. An inframammary incision was used and worked very well. Bilateral 350 cc silicone implants were used, and the implants were placed into the submuscular plane. There is a nice natural shape to her breasts postoperatively.
This is a 34-year-old woman who has already had 2 children. She is currently a small B and would like to be a C. You can see a small amount of droopiness of the breasts as well. She underwent breast augmentation using an inframammary incision. 350cc silicone gel filled implants were placed into the dual plane to give a little lift as well as enlarge the size. The patient was very happy with our breast implants in NJ procedure because they are now a better shape plus the silicone feels very natural.

The breast augmentation procedure is several decades old, and millions of these procedures have been performed during that time. The procedure has been honed and improved, and we understand more about it than ever.
Because of this, increasing numbers of doctors feel confident offering the procedure without proper cosmetic surgery training. This isn't right for you. Make sure you choose an experienced plastic surgeon for your procedure.
Those statistics about the safety of the breast augmentation procedure are valid when the doctor performing your augmentation is properly trained and educated. The risk of this procedure – any procedure – increases greatly when the surgeon lacks experience and training.
Dr. Haramis MD, FACS, board-certified plastic surgeon, has extensive training, certification, and experience with breast augmentation procedures. Couple this with his amazing bedside manner and artistry, and you can be assured that you’ll get the best available care NJ has to offer.
With arguably the best breast augmentation NJ has to offer, we continually strive for perfection and boast an impressive safety record. This fact isn’t changed by any of the decisions you’ll be able to make. We don’t move forward with any procedure unless we know it can be performed safely and effectively.
Customizing your breast augmentation procedure includes choosing the right type of breast implant for you, selecting the ideal placement of your breast implant, and deciding how to best hide your breast augmentation incisions. Below, we further outline each of these important decisions.
When considering a breast augmentation with breast implants, size matters. Many women want their breasts to appear larger without looking disproportionate. Others feel that they want to go as large as they can. The most popular sizes of breast implants range between 350cc to 400cc which adds up to an extra two cup sizes.
Common sizes range between 300cc to 500cc, although you can go as small as 100cc for a slight increase in volume, or as high as 800cc. Most women are looking to achieve a boost in volume of about two cup sizes and so range in the 300cc to 400cc area. Common sizes in this range include 330cc, 360cc, and on up to 400cc. You may also want to consider two different sizes of implants if you have one breast that is larger than the other, which is common for many women.
Cup sizes ranging from an A cup on up are measured in cubic centimeters, or cc’s. Every cup size goes up by roughly 130cc to 150cc depending on the band size of the bra. So, if you are currently wearing a B bra cup, then getting an implant of roughly 150cc will likely achieve a C cup size. When attempting to determine the size of your breasts, however, do not use the size of your bra as an accurate representation of your breast size as bra sizes vary between manufacturers.
This will take detailed discussion during the consultation phase, so that both you and the surgeon have a clear idea of your exact cosmetic goals. Key factors to consider will be:
These will help to establish which implant sizes would best match your figure, look natural, and achieve the increase in breast size that enhances your quality of life.
Women who are dissatisfied with the size of their breasts who wish to enhance their curves can benefit from breast augmentation. In general, women who seek breast augmentation should:
Breast augmentation results are long-lasting. You should have your breast implants monitored by your physician each year to watch for changes both in your body and the implant. Natural changes in your body as it ages, your own personal preference, or aging implants may cause you to consider implant revision surgery in the future.
Your ability to breastfeed following breast augmentation is determined by the placement of your implants. Women who choose to have their implants placed under the muscle tissue have a greater possibility that they will be able to breastfeed following their augmentation procedure.

The sub-muscular implant position is almost always used for breast augmentation. The muscle coverage offers more support and camouflage of the implant. The placement of the implant in the sub-glandular plane is only done occasionally in the situations of strange anatomy or in people who will be using their pectoral muscles a lot, such as women body builders.
The dual plane technique was developed for women with minimal breast droop, or ptosis - as well as those desiring a more natural, lower fullness in their final result. The dual plane approach produces more of a teardrop effect, as opposed to upper pole fullness that looks more like a dome.
During a dual plane augmentation, the breast implant is placed under the pectoral muscle at the upper part, and over the pectoral muscle at the lower part. There are varying degrees of muscle coverage based on the patient’s current breast shape and desired result. For this reason, it’s important to choose a surgeon who can aptly determine the correct degree of coverage.
Once you’ve chosen that you would like to undergo our breast implants in NJ surgery, where you would like the implants placed, and the type of breast implant, it is important to discuss breast augmentation incision options with our plastic surgeons.
Here are your choices:
This is placed in the natural crease under the breast and is about one to one and a half inches long. This approach is easy and the incision usually heals to the point where it is almost invisible.
A hidden incision in the belly button is used to place the implants so no scar is seen around the breast itself. This is a wonderful way to enhance the breasts with minimal evidence that a surgery was even performed.
A small incision is made under the muscle in each armpit. The breast implant is placed into the pocket created and the incision heals extremely well. This is another great way to perform breast augmentation with no incision on the breast at all.
An incision is made around part of the areola and nipple. After healing occurs the incision blends in well and is very difficult to see.
In 2015, the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS) reported that breast augmentation was the most popular plastic surgery procedure with 279,000 procedures performed. Because of how common breast augmentation has become, the likelihood of complications is minimal. However, with any surgical procedure, there is always some chance of complications.
The breast augmentation procedure has an excellent safety record, but there are still risks. We believe that it's crucial for you to understand those as part of your research into the procedure. Potential complications include:
We will walk you through the procedure and its risks well before you undergo your breast augmentation surgery. Our plastic surgeons are committed to ensuring that you know as much as possible before committing to any procedure.
